At Rome International School, wellbeing is a priority for all staff and students. Class Teachers, Form Tutors, Subject Teachers and Leaders work together to ensure every young person feels safe, happy, and that they belong. This sense of security is vital for creating an environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
RIS Rome International School kicked off the new school year with a dynamic series of in-service days, designed to set the stage for a successful year ahead. Our new and returning staff members were engaged in activities to plan and prepare for a smooth and productive start to the academic term.
As the new school year begins, children often face a mix of excitement and anxiety. Whether they’re in primary or secondary school, it’s normal for them to have worries about the changes ahead. As parents, understanding these concerns and knowing how to support your child can make all the difference in easing their transition back to school.
Across the school, we have had a wonderful week in which kindness has been a focus for everyone. In a range of ways, we have explored Random Acts of Kindness; the importance of active listening; expressing gratitude to people who help us; having empathy for those who are different to us; and celebrating our differences.
Every Friday afternoon, the students (and teachers) in Year 6 meet together to reflect on What Went Well during the week. Their responses have been about anything from gaining confidence in the swimming pool, to enjoying a group activity; having fun with friends to learning new strategies in maths.
