Maria Palmo Doriano

Early Years & Elementary School Principal

I was born and educated in Scotland, graduating from St Andrew´s Craiglockhart, Edinburgh. I taught in Scotland before coming to Italy, joining Rome International School over twenty years ago. I am currently the Principal of Early years and Elementary School and my role involves supporting, coordinating and interacting with community members.

My philosophy of education is that every child has the right to learn and receive queality education in a safe and caring environment. Teaching in IB PYP International school is rewarding and enriching in many ways, as different cultures come together, every child bringing their own strenghts and uniqueness, working and learning together.

I believe in the PYP programme as it focuses on the development of the whole child in the classroom and also in the world outsite. It offerts a framework that meets children´s academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs to become independent, life-long learners.
