Students recently had to design a flower (the seed of life) with only a compass. This is an ancient geometric pattern and bases a lot of knowledge around Pi.

As reported last week, one of the Elementary Eco Council's new projects in 2019 is to create a "Pothos Nursery". The aim is to place a water-plant in every classroom and office at RIS. On Thursday this week, Eco Committee took part in a stimulating Biology lecture held by Mr Baldoni, Biology teacher in the the Middle and High School.
In Kindergarten we are currently working on the Unit of Inquiry, How The World Works: Patterns In Nature. Our special focus is now on Winter and on day and night. We are reading books about Day and Night and are having circle time discussions on the different things we do during the day and during the night such as, getting up, taking a shower, getting dressed, having breakfast, going to school, playing, eating, putting on pyjamas, reading a nighttime story and sleeping.
