RIS MUN Club and Duke of Edinburgh

At RIS Rome we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our extensive range of extracurricular activities reinforces the Globeducate pillars of Educational Excellence and Developing Skills and Competencies. Engaging in activities beyond the classroom not only elevates our students´ educational experiences but also creates opportunities for making new friends and building confidence.

Whether through sports, arts, or community service, these experiences foster essential life skills, promote teamwork, and encourage personal growth. At RIS, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared to excel in all aspects of life. To support our students in pursuing interests beyond the classroom, we offer a late bus service for students above the age of seven.

Below, you´ll find two examples of programmes on offer to our senior students that not only build character and develop new skills but prepare them for life beyond school and in future studies and employment, such as Model United Nations and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

RIS Rome MUN club

For our students who are passionate about global issues and who thrive in environments that challenge thinking and skills of diplomacy, we have a fantastic opportunity - our Model United Nations simulation, hosted by Change the World Model United Nations (CWMUN) and Associazione Diplomatici. This opportunity is open to all students aged 15 and over.

Students can expect:

These sessions are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as a delegate. These sessions are offered as an after school activity and are not limited to the simulations themselves.

The sessions give students of all abilities a fun way of developing their oracy skills and we focus on a range of activities to help students with their critical thinking and confident communication, and help students to become more informed about the world around them.

Local and International Experience

Furthermore, this MUN simulation is just the beginning of an exciting journey. There will be additional MUN adventures, including simulations in Rome, Valencia, New York and Dubai.

These opportunities will further broaden our students´ horizons, empowering them to become global leaders of tomorrow. In the academic year 2024-25, RIS Rome will also create our own MUN Conference and Simulation and, as always, we will compete in the annual Globeducate MUN.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Our students from Year 10 upwards have the opportunity to participate in the International Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award Programme at RIS Rome.
