The Universal Language of Music: Highlights from International Music Festival in Mallorca

Getting Ready for the 2026 International Music Festival

Once again this year, Rome International School is delighted to be participating in the Globeducate International Music Week 2026 at Agora Lledó International School. This year's theme is: "Beyond Words: Music as the Universal Voice."

We truly appreciate the care taken to make the organisation, logistics, and musical preparation as smooth as possible. We are especially excited to work on Adiemus by Karl Jenkins— an ambitious and inspiring project that offers a unique learning experience for our students and a powerful moment for the audience. collaborative musical adventure that continues to grow year after year.

Two of our RIS Rome  participant’s Leonardo and Tancredi answered some questions about their participation in the event, taking place from 27 to 30 January 2026. What a way to begin the New Year!

From January 28 to 31, 2025, five RIS Middle and High School students accompanied by Ms. Vivanco, travelled to Mallorca to share their passion for music with peers from across the Globeducate community.

A heartfelt congratulations to Benedetta, Leonardo, Tommaso, Elina, and Evelin for their outstanding individual and collective contributions, making the XIII International Music Festival a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved!

Here's what our students had to say:

The festival as always was an amazing experience, you make lots of new friendships. The concert was so much fun.  The songs were more challenging this time as they were a very different genre. I think it's good to experiment, though. The location of the festival was great - the school was amazing, with so many facilities. The staff was super welcoming and there were plenty of spaces we could explore.  The aquarium trip was great because we went into the laboratories and had a much more interesting experience that what you usually see in an aquarium.

-Benedetta

It was an awesome experience. Everyone was so social, everyone was connected no matter what school they came from. Also the school's environment was really beautiful and the music teachers were fantastic. I really appreciated their hard work.

-Leonardo

I love the festival it was a wonderful experience. I loved it all. Thanks to Globeducate for organising festivals like this. They are amazing because you meet new people with similar interests sharing the same experience. It was great to play in an orchestra, preparing everything in only two days was magical. We all collaborated to achieve the same goal. Our director was great, he spoke only Spanish but he made himself understood and it was fun!

Our students collaborated with their peers to prepare for a spectacular closing concert on Thursday 30 January. Titled "Guardians of the Sea," the concert will feature a breathtaking performance by a string orchestra, a wind band, and a choir—bringing together over 160 students from 15 Globeducate schools.

The festival was a true celebration of music, cultural exchange, and international friendship, while also promoting themes of unity and sustainable development.

A huge congratulations to all participants for their incredible performances and to our wonderful hosts, Agora Portals International School.
