Harvard Summer Course Acceptance - Congratulations to IB student Rebecca T.

We would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to Year 12 student, Rebecca T., for her admission to the pre-college Harvard Summer School. As stated in her acceptance letter, 'Much of the experience will resemble that of a Harvard College student. The Harvard Secondary School program is.... a college program for high school students, who are responsible for planning their own time and managing the demands of rigorous college courses'.

The IB is known to develop and strengthen students' critical thinking, time management and independent study. We are confident that Rebecca will thrive and flourish in this course. 

I'm honoured to have the opportunity to participate in such a selective and exceptional course that will enhance both my academic potential and personal experience. I'm sure this will be the most challenging summer ever since I will have to combine the two months of the Harvard course together  with all the IB related activities to complete, but I'm really proud of myself for having achieved all of this.

It will also be an opportunity to explore different study fields I'm interested in. I am still unsure of what I would like to focus on in the future, but looking at the different courses Harvard offers this summer, I will definitely pick something related to creative writing/literature/astronomy, because writing has always been my passion and I might envision myself doing it in the future, while astronomy is something I really enjoy as a hobby for now. This will also be a great experience to see what Ivy League Universities are like to hopefully continue my studies there.
