Exploring world cultures - Arabic and Eid Day celebrations

Arabic and Eid Day was a fantastic success on Thursday 27 April! Various educational activities about Ramadan and Eid-al-Fitr were organised for some Middle and High School classes by our Languages department and a wonderful array of traditional Arabic delicacies were enjoyed by all in our school community.

Mr Shatnawi's Arabic Language students did a great job of presenting key facts about the traditions involved in this important holiday, after which, students were able to take part in a fun and interactive quiz on Kahoot!

The highlight of the day was the Arabic cultural and food stand organised by a group of RIS parents, which visited and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! It was a beautiful display of cultural items such as tablecloths and lanterns as well as a marvellous spread of traditional dishes.

A huge thank you to the parents involved for your amazing generosity and for providing such an enriching experience for all of our community to enjoy.

As a non-denominational school, this event was a great demonstration of our mission to provide a nurturing environment in which children of all nationalities and faiths can explore and respect their own and each other’s cultural and religious heritage.
