Celebrating the Universal Language of Music: Students attend 11th Annual International Music Festival in Spain

From 24 to 27 January 2023, Agora Lledó International School in Castellón de la Plana, Spain, has been buzzing with the sound of instruments tuning up as the school geared up to welcome over 200 students and teachers from around Europe to the annual Globeducate International Music Festival. Click here to view the opening film.

A delegation of RIS Elementary and Middle School students, accompanied by Ms Vivanco and Mr Young,  took part in this amazing celebration of Music. Over the span of four days, all of the participants worked together to rehearse eight songs to be performed at the closing concert of Symphonic Pop Rock on Friday 27th January.

Congratulations to:  Antonio, Leonardo, Ginevra, Benedetta, Ludovica, Giacomo , Giulio, Isabella, Maya and Taisiya.

Taisyia, one the RIS participants reflected on the experience, The music festival was a very good experience. I met a lot of people, I got to see how other schools (function) and I visited another country.

Everyday, we met at the Agora Lledò and from there we had to walk together to the auditorium (Auditori i Palau de Congressos de Castelló)

Once in the Auditorium the orchestra and choir would rehearse separately. I was part of the orchestra and first we rehearsed with the Music Teacher from Agora Lledo and then with the conductor, Mr Josep Gil, who guided us. Both had very different styles of teaching and were two different experiences.

The concert was amazing. Although we rehearsed together (orchestra and choir) only for two days  the concert was super organised, with seventeen schools from around the world and so many participants (around 250).

I would definitely recommend and repeat the experience. I would definitely remember it for the rest of my life. I learnt so much from it! I feel that I have become more confident and more open-minded. I already play the piano, but now I feel like I want to join a choir

Watch a recording of the closing concert below.

The International Music Festival is one of five annual inter-school events for Globeducate school, which provides students with enriching experiences, taking learning beyond the classroom and helping them to make meaningful international connections.

We would like to thank our sincere thanks to Agora Lledó International School for hosting this unforgettable event.
