Building Confidence and Connections: A Great Start in the Nursery Class

We are all getting to know each other in the Nursery class, learning the names of our new friends and exploring everything the school environment has to offer. Each day, we work together to establish daily and weekly routines that help develop good habits and decision-making skills, both for the year ahead and the future.

Nearly every activity is a first for most of our young learners at this stage. Most importantly, we are focused on supporting each child and their family as they settle into their new school and familiarize themselves with the shared spaces we will be using.

Through play, group activities, and fostering communication, we aim to build social and emotional skills, helping pupils grow in confidence, feel secure in their new surroundings, and become more comfortable in new social situations within the safe environment of their school.

Pupils have enjoyed outdoor learning in the woods, complete with dressing up, exploring the color yellow through mixed media art projects, playdough, and our weekly cooking lessons. We’ve met Katerina in the library, Angelo in the big gym, and Ms. Lucia’s music and movement lessons have been a great success in our class.

A wonderful start—well done to the youngest pupils in the school!
