In Kindergarten we finished our Unit of Inquiry - Who We Are: Family. For our final art project the children drew pictures of their family members, and put them in a house that they built with blocks.
We are currently exploring our next Unit on How the World Works: Patterns in Nature and first-up was Halloween! As you can see below, the children looked lovely on our special Halloween Day.
During our time in the woods we observed the changes in nature, especially the trees and plants.
We brought leaves and acorns back to class and we are now working on a new art project. The
children all painted a leaf. Later on we will use tissue paper and then laminate it, so it will make
a nice decoration for the window. We are reading books related to this unit, such as Trees,
Autumn, and An Acorn For Tea. We also have special play dough in autumn colours: light brown with cinnamon, a darker brown with cocoa powder and a reddish brown with a mix of colouring. Together with that the children have been using sticks and twigs, acorns and conkers, and they are making some very imaginative creations!
The children are improving when it comes to playing together, such as putting together building blocks, and making floor puzzles together. It is nice to see how they are gradually getting along better and more able to share and plan together.
Warm autumn greetings from Kindergarten class.
