A new year – a new floor for the Maths department
We are pleased to announce that the Mathematics Department has moved to Level 4 where we now hold our lessons in the three newly furnished classrooms that come with state-of-the-art SAMSUNG interactive boards.
Our team is determined to continue the work that aims to raise standards in this subject.
We would like to extend a warm welcome our new members in the department – Ms. Dunne, Ms. Reese and Ms. Roach – who are keen to share their knowledge and expertise with our students.
Last year's IGCSE and Checkpoint results prove we are on the right path. Our current Grade 12 students performed impressively last year in their Maths exam achieving several A* and A grades. Congratulations to our hard-working students on this fantastic performance. Our Checkpoint scores have also improved compared to the previous year, placing our students well above the average all over the world.
There are some exciting developments planned for this year.
We are going to introduce a maths tutoring system in the Middle and High School, to help students who find maths challenging. Senior students will tutor younger ones during lunch breaks, once-a-week for 20 minutes. This support could count towards the CAS programme for our IB students.
We are also planning to celebrate World Maths day in March in the form of an student assembly and a House competition.
