COVID19 Health and Safety Guidelines

• All persons entering the premises will have their temperature taken
• External visitors will be required to fill in a self-declaration form before entry. 
• Parents or third parties accompanying children in the Early Years will be required to be EU Green Pass holders. 
• Parents or accompanying third parties who access external areas, such as those who drop off their children without exiting their vehicles, will not have to show the EU Green Pass. Flexibility can be permitted strictly related to (external) pick-up and drop-off. 
• Parents who need to access the school by appointment (interviews, administrative procedures, etc. that cannot be carried out remotely), will be need to present the Green Pass every time they access the building;

• IMPORTANT: International families not registered with the Italian health system and / or not in possession of the EU Green Pass, should contact your Consulate / Embassy for support.

• With the exception of parents of Early Years students (only one parent will be allowed into the premises), parents will NOT be able to enter the building. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter that will help ensure the health and well-being of our community.
• Personal protective equipment such as face masks are required to enter the building and social distancing must be respected
• Hand sanitizer stations and with disinfection mats must be used when entering or exiting the building 
• Vehicle access to the campus is only allowed for drop-off / pick-up purposes or for appointments previously agreed with the administration, whether these meetings are with teachers or other members of staff
• A staggered start (and end) to the school day, which will allow all students to enter the building in accordance with our safety protocols. 

COVID-19 preventative measures will continue in 2021-2022 as follows: 

All persons entering the premises will have their temperature taken at the gate. They will enter the building respecting social distancing and will sanitise their hands as they enter. Protective personal equipment, in particular face masks, will be required for all staff, parents and students above the age of 6 upon entering the building and when moving around the school. 

Any member of the community who shows symptoms of respiratory infection and fever over 37.5°C or asymptomatic workers / people who report that they have had close contact (as defined by the Italian Ministry of Health’s 9 March 2020 memorandum) with a case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days (DPCM 8 March 2020) will be not be able to access the school.

• Bus users will also have their temperatures measured by the bus assistant, before getting on board, and will be required to wear face masks for the entire journey
• Disinfection mats as well as hand sanitising stations will also be placed at all entrance points to the school
• With the exception of parents of Early Years students (only one parent will be allowed into the premises), parents will NOT be able to enter the building unless upon appointment
• Parent and/or visitor access to the campus will be restricted and upon appointment only. Vehicle access to the campus will be allowed for drop-off / pick-up purposes. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.

There will be a staggered start to the school day, which will allow all students to enter the building safely. The arrangements are as follows: 

8.30am – Middle and High School students will enter the building through the Level 3 entrance. Students will go directly to their Form Room where the daily register will be taken. Latecomers (those arriving after 08.30 should go straight to their lesson where they will be marked late by the subject teacher). 

8.50am – Years 4, 5 and 6 students will enter the building through the main Reception on Level 1 where they will be met by staff. 

9.00am – Years 1, 2 and 3 classes will enter the building through the doors near the football tables on Level 1. Students  will be welcomed by our staff and accompanied to their classrooms. 

9.10am – Nursery, Kindergarten and Transition students will enter via the garden gate on Level 1. Parents of Early Years students will be allowed access to the Early Years garden via this gate. 

If you have a sibling with a different drop-off or pick-up time, please inform us and will be able to accommodate them in a specific are where they will wait whilst respecting social distancing

As with our entry procedures, there will be a staggered end to the day, which will allow all families to exit the building in the safest way possible. 

* Please note that only parents of Early Years children can use the parking area on level 3 and enter the building to collect their child. This will also allow parents of our youngest students to touch-base with their child’s teacher at the end of the day. 

NB: IB students in Year 12 and Year 13 will be allowed to leave school after their last lesson. Permanent passes will be issued at the start of the school year. 

To enable a smooth transition back to school - for our youngest students to our most senior students - virtual meetings will be held before the start of school in order for families to meet their child’s teacher.

Later in the year, where possible and if compatible with government guidelines, in-person meetings between teachers and parents will be organised. 

Please note that in the Early Years, there will be an orientation period to allow children to adapt gradually to school life. Details of this have been communicated parents of Nursery, Kindergarten, Transition and Year 1 children. 

During playtime Early Years and Elementary students will have an allocated area in the playground where they will remain. We will, of course, provide a healthy snack to help them through the day! 

Our older students in the Middle and High School will be able to make use of the ample terrace space including the terraces on levels 3 and 4. 

We are very fortunate in that we have three lunchrooms on our premises. This will enable us to ensure that students are socially distanced whilst they still benefit from our organic lunches. We have increased the time between sittings so that we have more time for cleaning and disinfecting between shifts. 

The Middle and High School will follow a continuous day, with staggered breaks and lunches for the Middle and High School, thereby reducing the flow of students during peak times. 

Maintaining the health and safety of our students and community has always been at the forefront of all of our decisions, never more so than now. It has been our aim to implement the highest possible safety standards and ensure continuity in all that we do for your children. 

Our programme of extracurricular activities will accommodate our students safely.

We would like to assure our families that we are constantly monitoring the latest guidelines issued by the competent authorities. School bus users will be obliged to wear face masks for the entire journey and will have their temperature measured by the bus assistant before getting on board. 

All  off-site visits and trips are cancelled until further notice. Globeducate is making arrangement for virtual alternatives, where possible, for the inter-school events that are normally held.
