Education is our passion and every single student is at the centre of the educational process at Rome International School. If you are visiting our website then you are probably seeking an open-minded, modern and success-oriented international education for your children. We are engaged daily in providing such an education and our programmes are specifically designed for this purpose. Our teachers, coming from 16 different countries, are committed to reaching this objective. We aim to offer our students the possibility to express and develop their individual talents, living every day in a school consistent with values such as merit, sustainability, solidarity and sobriety (the latter serves as a reminder that we should all be aware that limits exist and exceeding them always has a cost).
Our new campus, which opened in July 2014, is a brand new building in the heart of parkland but still very close to the city centre. It has been designed and built to be inspiring and functional for students, both for curricular and the rich extra curricular activities.
Surfing our website, you will gain a good impression of the values mentioned above and when visiting our school you will be welcomed by the smiles of our students – the greatest testament of how much they enjoy studying at Rome International School.
We never forget that we are located in a city so rich in history and in a country so rich in art and beauty. Therefore, the study of the culture of our host country is part of our programme, always with an eye to the future and its trends. For this reason, our senior students can study Art, Economics or Philosophy and the younger students can start to study Chinese with mother-tongue teachers during their Elementary School years. The school is very well equipped in terms of ICT and the incorporation and development of technological skills is very important to us.
In a world where everything changes almost daily, the school has to provide not only knowledge for its students, but equally as important, the capacity to understand. This is why we have chosen to adopt the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes for our High School (Diploma Programme) and for our Elementary School (IB Primary Years Programme), offering the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) assessed by Cambridge, for the first two years of High School. No other school in Rome offers the same continuity of high quality programmes.
We aspire to be consistent with our ambitions, so we never stop pushing our quality standards forward, for example through staff professional development, the study of worldwide best practices in teaching and learning, the link with our parent organisation, LUISS University, and the promotion of cultural and social initiatives for our community.
The school is also a member of the Association of IB World Schools in Italy (AIBWSI), which exists to support member schools in achieving their common educational goals and to provide representation on issues of common interest.
We will be delighted to meet you and your children to discuss both what we offer and your own projects for the future.
