| IB Diploma Visual Arts Exhibition |
|
Visual Arts: it’s the one subject in the IB Diploma Programme that stands a bit apart from the others. Where there are exams at the end of the two year course for every other subject, for Visual Arts there is an exhibition where the students get to show their work to friends and family and, most important: the IB Examiner. In April 2011, we had our very first ever IB Visual Arts exhibition at Rome International School. The works of Aloisia Leopardi, Diana Lazzaro and Kathryn Calanca were presented on a very successful Saturday afternoon, and remained on display for the last days of term 2. You can watch a 'virtual tour' of the exhibition by pressing the play button on the player below. Please be aware that this presentation takes over 22 minutes, and is therefore a file of over 40 MB big... this may take some time to load...
(launch in an external player) Our ‘exhibition centre’ eventually had to become the classrooms they were once again, but we wanted to give our Visual Arts students a more permanent place to show their paintings, sculptures, drawings and animations on our web site. Please click on a button below to view a photo gallery of our students' works. In addition to these works, Diana Lazzaro also made three video animations for the exhibition: Feel The Funk, a street dance inspired video, The City Is Moving, an animation involving her grafitti designs and the scenery of Rome, and the stop-motion-video People.
Finally, there is an article about this exhibit in the May issue of our school magazine, RIS Report, which you can read online here... |
